Description:
This river is about 6 feet wide and in some parts about 5 feet deep. Its current is very smooth running thro’ a level flow bog covering its banks oft times with mud which gives its waters a black colour and thus gives it its proper name. It has some trout and great numbers of eels.
Situation:
Takes its source partly from Lough na mBrack Caogh and partly from the bogs of Tooreenakoona passes in a N.W. direction thro’ Drihidh Dubh and falls into Lough Fee.
