Description:

The property of Sir George Shea, Dunmore, Co. Galway. It contains 286½ acres statute measure including about 107 acres of bog. There is a road passing from E. to W. through the N. central end of this townland.

Situation:

In or about the central part of the parish, bounded on the N. by the townland of Gurteenlea on the W. by Gurtnagoyne, on the S. by Ballymony and Grange and on the E. by Knockatee East.

Translation according to P. W. Joyce:

Knockatee in Cavan, Galway, Kerry, and Westmeath ; Cnoc-a'-tighe [-tee], hill of the (great) house, See Attee [reproduced below].
