Description:
This Parish in and without the Liberties of Galway in its greatest extent from North to South is 4½ British miles, and from East to West 9¾ miles nearly. It is divided into 72 townlands. The principal roads running through this parish are from Galway to Oughterard and from Galway to Spiddal. The nearest market town is Galway.
Situation:
In the County of the town of Galway. Bounded in the N. by the parish of Moycullen, and Oranmore in the Liberties, on the E. by Oranmore and St. Nicholas, on the South by Galway Bay and in the W. by Moycullen and Rahoon Pairshes in the Barony of Moycullen.
